Wedding Season Is Almost Here! What To Do Before You Say "Yes to the Dress"

Is your wedding coming up soon?  Congratulations!!

You are probably in the midst of preparations and planning, and may have already chosen your venue, caterer, photographer, musicians and florist.  Perhaps you’ve already put down deposits to reserve your date, dress, cake… all to make sure that your wedding day will be perfect.  Of course, we hope that it will be.  However, sometimes bad luck intervenes.

My brother, Kirk, owns Torrance Bakery in Southern California which is known nationally for their spectacular and delicious wedding cakes.  He hears horror stories regularly from brides and grooms who have lost large deposits due to vendors who have closed shop and filed for bankruptcy.  Others have (sadly) had to postpone weddings due to sudden illness of a parent, or withdrawal of military leave.

With average wedding costs hovering around $25,000, your big day can be a significant financial commitment.  With all the money, time and effort that you put into the planning, the last thing you need is something to go wrong.  We recommend you consider the “Travelers Wedding Protector Plan”.

The “Wedding Protector Plan” helps you protect the investment you make in your wedding day.  It compensates for common wedding-related claims including damage to wedding attire, cancellation or postponement due to weather, loss of jewelry, and contracted vendors (such as caterers or photographers) that don’t show.

Costs start at $160.  The plan may be purchased up to two years prior to the event, but must be obtained at least 14 days in advance.
